VLADIMIR PARFIENOK

Photographer and curator. He graduated from the Belarusian State University. Photographer of the “Center” Research and Production Association (Minsk, 1989-1991), editor at the art photography department of the Republican Art Magazine “Arts” (Minsk, 1991-2002). One of the “Province” informal association of creative photography founders, which activity in 1987-1993 turned Minsk into one of the capitals of unofficial photographic art in the USSR. Curator of the “New Belarusian Photography” exhibition at the State Art Gallery in Sopot (Poland, 1994) and “Photography from Minsk” exhibition at the IFA Gallery (Berlin, 1994). Participant of numerous group exhibition photographic projects in Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and far abroad (Finland, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, USA, Austria); author of two personal exhibition projects – “Lucida momenta” (1995-97) and “Unreliable facts from the scene” (2002).  Art director and curator of exhibition projects at the “NOVA” Independent Gallery of Visual Arts. Founder and editor of the Belarusian “Photoscope.by” photographic web almanac. He is one of the founders of the Belarusian “Photoart”. Creative Association. From 2004 to 2012, he was a teacher at the School of Photography at the Center of Photography (Minsk, 2009-2012). Since 2014 he has been an employee of the Center for Contemporary Arts.
